The Flower List #23: Go to a Midnight Premiere of a Movie

Whoohoo! Another thing down on the list.

Thursday night, I lined up with a bunch of my family members and their friends to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. We dressed up, saw some crazy fans L.A.R.P.ing and just had SO much fun. It was amazing, just the whole atmosphere. I wanted to stay there forever!

I won't say anything about the movie, for those of you that haven't seen it. But I cried, and cried, and laughed, then cried some more. It was insane.

Me and my cousin Emily, (I'm on the right!).

Going to a midnight movie is definitely exciting and fun, but I think you'll enjoy it more if you're a true fan of whatever you're going to see! Like even though I read and enjoy the Twilight series, I don't think I'd go and see Breaking Dawn at midnight because I'm not CRAZY about it. Hopefully something else will capture my heart like Harry Potter, but until then, and forever always- long lived The Boy Who Lives!

The Flower List #39: Watch a sunrise

My bus that drives me to school leaves early in the morning. I'm outside waiting at my street corner by 6:45. This, is just when the sun is basically done rising. It's still slightly dark out and on a rare occasion you can still see the moon. On the days when I'm not curing at my feet for how cold it is out, I look up. And it's magnificent. It really is. All the colors, the clouds just starting to form. The birds' outlines contrasting against the sun. Then it hit me that I've always wanted to watch the sunrise. It wasn't on my Flower List yet, so I added it and then crossed it off last Saturday!

I got up at a little before six o'clock because I wanted to watch the whole sunrise. Not just when part of the sky's black and the other half is all technicolor. I wanted to be outside when everyone was inside, when the moon was watching over us. It was definitely cool, and I definitely want to do it again because my sunrise was more like a moonset. From my back deck, where I was watching the sunrise, I had a crystal clear view of the moon, but the sun was lost behind my neighbors trees. It was still a really nice experience but I didn't get to see the center of it all, the sun. I just saw all the great colors and clouds surrounding it.

When I first walked outside I could tell already I picked a not so good day to do this. Here I am sitting on my deck chair in my green slippers, these red thermal legging things my mom got me for Christmas, a t-shirt and my fluffy green with white stars bathrobe and the wind is howling. Leaves that have survived the snow from November are blowing all around, things were falling down and knocking over and I'm in my own little corner trying to keep warm and not miss a minute of my show.

I thought I'd take pictures to show you how pretty it was but my fingers were locked into my sides to keep warm and like I said, you couldn't really see the sun that well. So the pictures wouldn't of been that great anyways.

It was a weird but pleasant experience overall, it taught me patience because I was sitting there for over an hour slowly waiting for the sun to awake. I thought about it for a bit afterwards and anyone else who would've seen me must've thought I was crazy. Y'know just chilling in the 30 degree weather outside at five a.m. But it was worth it. It was just cool! I can't explain it that well. It was funny. I woke up at before five watch the sun come up, and hopped back in bed. No one but a few friends I told and my sister knew I was out there. My sister was too tired to join me. It was just me, the sun and the moon for an hour. And it was very nice.

Back to Basics: A Flower List Update

*Wow, can you believe this is the first and probably only update of February?! I only posted so far 9 times this month...*

Have you been able to cross things off your own 'Bucket List' lately?
0% said YES! (:
33% said No :(
0% said I don't have one.
0% said What's that?
0% said Yeah, but I don't have an official list. I've just done some cool things.
33% said I wiishhhh
and...
33% said One or two things :)

So in early February when I made this poll I made it so I could talk about how lazy I am, I'm making no true effort to accomplish come things on my bucket list when any day could be my last. Which is true. That's why I really am excited and anxious to get these thigns done because you don't know what life could throw at you. One day you're fine and the next maybe some freak accident happens while your at your friends house and next thing you know you can't walk anymore, or worse. It's sad to think about at time but it's the truth and no one ever said the truth was full of happy endings. It just stinks because I lot of these things I want to do involve tons of money I don't have or just the right moment or maybe just age. But, these thoughts were in early February. And now it's the 26th so, my mind is more at ease because I crossed off something exactly a week ago. If you'd like to know what it is or read about it click here. If not, enjoy your day! Come back soon and best of luck with your own list. :)

Acess Denied

So... two things you may or may not already know about me.
1. I LOVE Harry Potter
2. It's on my Flower List to see a movie at a midnight premiere
Being that HP7 is coming out this Friday, I dreamed about seeing it late Thursday night.
Well there's two things stopping me:
1. My mother. (I'll be honest!)
2. No one to go with!

You see most of my friends aren't Harry Potter nerds like myself.
And I'm tired of going with people who have no real interest in it!
BUT
It turns out I have an AMAZING FRIEND
named Shilpa
who I just found out...
LOVES HARRY POTTER!
How great is that?

Since there's no way the both of us (we live in different towns) could get together to see the midnight even if we were allowed,
we're seeing the film sometime this weekend hopefully and I can't wait!
I met Shilpa at a track meet and ever since we've kept in touch.
I have to admit, she's like my little miracle.
I can't believe a silly track meet created so many new friendships for me
and I love talking to her and spending time with her.
Though we've only hung out once outside of track related events,
I really consider Shilpa a good friend.
She's hilarious, really nice, and just so easy to have a good time with!
And the unknown fact that she read all the Harry Potter books makes me love her that much more.
Fact: Way to my heart, love Harry Potter ;)

&STRANGERS
ARE JUST FRIENDS
YOU HAVEN'T MET YET

So, be open.
Don't think you won't be friends with someone because
they don't like things you do,
they're weird,
they live too far away,
they go to another school,
they're a guy,
they're a girl,
they're gay,
they're stupid,
they're to smart,
they're not in your 'group'.
Wheter it's the guy that's lived on your block for years
but always thought was too... crazy
or
someone you've met for the first time,
you have to choice to create a lasting relationship!
So don't be afraid to strike up a conversation.

Back to Basics: A Flower List Update

(I have to ask you it now!) Have you ever sent fan mail?

25% said No.
0% said Yup!
50% said Um, why would I?
25% said I've thought about it.
0% said I want too.

If you haven't read my other post about me sending fan mail, as a part of my Flower List, I asked you all to comment if you've sent fan mail, no one did (*cry*) so I made it a poll! That's basically it. Not much to elaborate on, but no I really feel pathetic looking at the poll results. Why did I even put that on the list?

Thank for reading (: I'm trying to decide what I should try to tackle next... any suggestions? (Psh, not like you guys comment anyways anymore!! Haha)

The Flower List #15: Send Fan Mail

Wow.

After my last post I decided to read over my Flower List again... I'm an idiot. As my eyes passed by the goals that envolved money and airfare and cute boys, I came across one lonely small goal on the bottom of the first page that just required a stamp and some paper. Send fan mail.

I mean come on?! How easy is that!! So, I looked up an adress, got some markers out and badda boom: ANOTHER COMPLETE!! Whoooohooo! :)

I decided to send my first (and probably only) piece of fan mail to the one and only Lucas Till.

Most known for his "break-out" role in Hannah Montana: The Movie Lucas is an actor that has starred in various indie films, music videos, TV episodes, and commercials (voiceovers Brianna? ;)). I decided to write to him because it seems like every girl has written to their celebrity crush, so why don't I give it a try? Haha. It was really wierd when I sat down to write it but I basically just said I thought he was a really good actor, and he's seems super down to Earth and nice and obviously that's he's cute! You sort of have to write that....

So! Here's proof I actually did it (tried to spice it up with some stickers: FAIL)

Okay... this seems really pathetic as I'm writing this.... Why did I choose to send fan mail?! God only knows. Have you seen the Disney movie 16 Wishes? I feel like Debby Ryan's character wondering why she added this on the list... but whatever! I did it. :)

So.... here's my question for you: Have you ever sent fan mail? If so (if you don't mind telling!): to who? What'd it say? I really wanna know even if you haven't! So please please comment or else that will be next week's poll and I know all of you vote!

OH! And just putting it out there: I made my 50th post on the 24th! Yay!!

Back to Basics: A WELL NEEDED Flower List Update

*FIRST OFF: I haven't blogged in years it feels like.... or maybe just a month. I feel absolutely terrible! I thought getting off from school would give me more time to blog - which it did! But I guess I just had to get adjusted to all that extra time and find out how to use it wisely, which I'm still very much in the process of doing. I'm always hitting myself, wondering why I spend most of my time lying around when I could be doing something great! But I've now gone back to blogging and really hope you guys will continue to read!*

Do you recycle?
42% said Yes! Of course
0 of you said Yeah, I think...
0 of you said Nope
57% said Wish I did!
0 of you said Why would I?
and...
0 of you said Ha, you kidding? Waste of time.

So... I'm very happy a lot of you recycle! Kudos. (: I'm also really happy that none of you voted 'Nope, Why would I?, or Ha, you kidding? Waste of time.' and that those of you who didn't recycle chose 'Wish I did!' instead. As you might've known from my previous posts, especially "Earth Day is Every Day!" I'm getting into being green. And recycling is one quick and easy step to start! For those of you who wish you recycled, be you're own fairy eco-god mother! Find out about places in your town, county, or city where you can recycle. I know in my town, we leave our non-deposit bottles, cans, etc. out on the curb on certain days for pick-up; and those items that can be deposited for change, we bring to our local beverage stores that do that. Check on your item's label to see if you can get money back for recycling in your state! I really hope every one of us takes at least one step to going greener, wheter it be recycling, buying a hybrid, purchasing clothes that are made recycled of recycled material or just shutting a light off when you leave the room! Be proud of yourself, no matter how big or how small your action is.

I found a picture of these great public recycling cans in NYC. Maybe they're in your local city too!

Reflecting on my first "Back to Basics" post, I realized I haven't shared my other Flower List page with you guys! So here it is! Click on the April Blog Archive to find the first page if you'd like.

Leave any questions about my choices for my list below! I really gotta start working on them... I'm going to try #23 real soon for the latest and greatest Harry Potter! What's on your list?

Oh! Before I sign off, I should add one more green tip! Recently, I found out about a great Google powered search engine, by word of my friend Sam. It's called blackle.com. The entire screen goes black to save energy, because it takes a lot of watts to power a screen white! It works exactly like Google. The down side: it only does web searches. So know picture, videos, or maps. :( Hope you use it though!

Back to Basics: A Flower List Update

It's been time for my update for a while now, and I know I've been slacking! So here you go, one fresh new update on everything The Flower List.

What are you most excited for this summer?

33% said Camp!
22% said The amazing weather :)
22% said Swimming!!
11% said Barbeques- YUM
11% said Pool parties!
0 of you said The 4th of July
and...
0 of you said Other

I can't wait for summer- as usual! Unless you have some really strong hatred for summer, you have to get excited when a new season rolls along. A new season gives you new opportunities and experiences, not to mention new weather! There's so many different things to love about summer, it seems the favorite here at The Flower List is camp. I do a variety of day camps over the summer, and even doing those for the short three hours a day for a week I've become so attached to everything there. I hope everyone going to camp this summer, wheter it be sleepaway or only for a week or so like mine, enjoys it and creates even more camp memories!

The Flower List is going well.... I keep adding things but it takes a while to get everything nice and all so I can scan it (well that and me just being pure lazy!). I hope to accomplish a lot over the summer, I added a little counter on the bottom of the blog just incase you're ever wondering where I'm at! Some recent aditions I made: Be part of a flash mob, Give a stranger a $100 bill....

Not much to right! But like I said, with summer comes time, and with time comes The Flower List! I hope as all my readers start spending more time at the beach and less time at there screens, they won't forget me! Because just to give you a heads up, I'll still be posting. (:

Back to Basics: A Flower List Update

The Flower List.

You're probably wondering why I call it that. Yes, I've gotten many questions about it before. But you see, the term "Bucket List" in my point of view is a stupid term. I mean, tell me, who thinks about buckets when they think of death! Now, you may ask me me, "Well who think's of flowers when they think of death?" But I have my own rational explanation.

I've unfortunately been to many funerals in my lifetime, which means many wakes since most people I know follow some form of Christianity. If you don't know what a wake is, it's held before a person's funeral, family and friends come to a funeral home and come to see the person who has died, the casket could be opened or not. That takes place maybe twice a day for two days. At most wakes, there are lots of flowers, the whole room starts to smell like a greenhouse! So, it may seem weird that that's the first thing I think of, but it works for me.

Just now, I Googled "where did the term bucket list come from", and I guess I'm not the only one wondering this, because it came up right away.

Here is what I got from WikiAnswers: someone contemplating suicide would place a rope around a rafter, place the noose around their neck and stand on a bucket. The bucket would then be kicked away and the person would hang until dead. hence the phrase "kick the bucket".

Now, I'm sorry as hard as life gets I never see suicide as an option! So thinking of flowers works much better for me! But, hey you learn something new everyday!

Some people have asked me what else is on The Flower List, well I'm going to post a picture of it that I scanned (thanks, EPSON!) right here... this isn't the end of it! It's going to be pages long soon! So I hope you like it, and maybe get some inspiration do to some crazy things. Also take note that "Be Able To Do a Split" is #4, sorry I didn't have that info for you yesterday!

I'll give you guys another picture every time I make a new page.

Becoming A Health Junkie? And Love, Legal?

I think this whole track thing has dramatically effected me already! Is that possible? Today I was at soccer practice, and my Dad was late picking me up. I had a track and two feet so I wanted to run! I asked my coach if I could do some laps because I needed to keep running for track and he gave me this weird face and said, "If you want. Just don't run off, I'm supposed to be watching you until your dad comes." So I did half a mile while waiting for my Dad! I seriously feel like one of those exercise junkies, all I want to do is run and see how long I can go for! But, this has had a good impact on The Flower List 'cause I'm starting to work towards my next goal (I'd give you the number but, I'm currently at a friend's house, listless!), which is to be able to do a split.
Now, I'm a dancer. And you'd think I'd be able to do a split, but flexibility is a very touchy subject with me. I'm like a foot off the ground when I try to do a spilt, and I haven't been able to decrease that dreadful distance. I used to be better, being able to do a heel-stretch somewhat well, but my dancing school stopped helping me with that, and now that I've moved studios and only taking one class - the one were I won't learn anything, tap - I'm all on my own.

So, yesterday with my new found determined spirit I did a mini 30 minute workout, stretching non-stop. Hopefully, like attempts in the past, I won't give up. So write some supportive comments if you'd like! And tell me if you're working towards any athletic goals.

As for my topic of the day, yesterday I was with a friend and I saw a collage she did. In the collage there was a model wearing an American Apparel T-shirt saying, Legalize L.A. I'm not sure what the T-shirts supported, it had something to do with immigration rights (I think! Don't take my word, it's later at night and I'm too lazy to Google :) ) and I started thinking of their other T-shirts, supporting the legalization of gay marriage in the U.S., and how ridiculous it is that we even need those T-shirts.

When you think about it, the government is telling us (certain people) that it is illegal to love. Now, I myself am not gay, but if I was in love with another girl, and we weren't allowed to make that love official, as most people find matrimony does I would be torn apart. I don't understand why people get so heated over this subject, other's marriage does not affect your life. So what if two men are professing their love for another? Is something horrible going to happen to you? It's life. Move on. Being intolerant will get you no where. Sit down and think about it, love being illegal is preposterous.

Once again, feel free to comment. Thanks for the follower, poll votes, and profile views sooner then I thought!
